Make your Canva file
Export as PDF PrintThen, three steps in Canva
- Create a design → Custom size → inches. Enter the size from above — width first, height second.
- Design edge to edge. Stretch your background to every side. Keep the important stuff about an inch in.
- Share → Download → PDF Print. Flatten PDF on if offered. Crop marks and bleed OFF. Open the PDF, proof every word, upload it with your order.
Common sizes, ready to go
Every size below is perfectly proportional to the finished banner.
Vinyl banners — use the exact size
1'x2'→24" x 12"
2'x3'→36" x 24"
2'x4'→48" x 24"
3'x4'→48" x 36"
3'x5'→60" x 36"
2'x6'→72" x 24"
3'x6'→72" x 36"
4'x6'→72" x 48"
Big vinyl banners — use the converted size
2'x8'→80" x 20"
3'x8'→80" x 30"
4'x8'→80" x 40"
3'x10'→80" x 24"
4'x10'→80" x 32"
5'x10'→80" x 40"
10'x10'→80" x 80"
10'x20'→80" x 40"
Tent banners
1'x8'→80" x 10"
1'x9'→81" x 9"
1'x10'→80" x 8"
1'x12'→78" x 6.5"
1'x15'→75" x 5"
Table runners
24"x72"→72" x 24"
30"x72"→72" x 30"
36"x72"→72" x 36"
📌 Why converted sizes? Canva can't create a file as big as your finished banner, so these are the largest perfectly-proportional sizes Canva accepts. We scale it up in production — your design prints exactly as you built it.
Logos: don't let Canva pixelate them
Made your logo in Canva? Don't copy it between designs. Go back to the original Canva file for the logo, export it as PDF Print (best) or the maximum-size PNG/JPEG, and bring that exported file into your banner. A logo copied and resized as a regular image will pixelate — Canva can't cleanly resize raster JPG/PNG images, it just stretches the pixels.
- Uploading your own logo? Use the original SVG or vector PDF, or the largest transparent PNG you have. Never a screenshot.
- Quick test: zoom to 100% in Canva. If it looks soft on screen, it will look soft at 8 feet wide.
Using AI artwork?
🤖 Don't run AI files through Canva just to export them. Export directly from your AI tool at the largest size it offers and upload that file with your order. If the AI image goes inside a bigger design: bring in the largest original, place it once into your correctly-sized banner file, and crop — don't stretch, and never resize it in one Canva file and re-import it into another. Every round trip makes it blurrier. Not sure about AI sizes? See our AI Setup Page or ask us on Live Chat.
The 1-inch rule
Background to the very edge — important content an inch inside — and nothing in the corners. That's grommet territory.
